magazine for the self-storage industry, the 2004 Facility of the
Year Award recognizes Tech-Fast and Storage Central for excellence
in the design and construction of the facility. The Storage Central
facility was chosen for this recognition from hundreds of entries
from across the U.S.
How
We Made It Happen for Storage Central
At Tech-Fast,
we make it our mission to help our customers achieve their goals and
create successful self-storage businesses. When we first began
discussing plans for the Storage Central facility with the owner,
Mike Koepf, he stated that one of his goals was to create an
award-winning facility. Now, just ten months after opening for
business, Mike has achieved that goal.
Mike also
wished to “do something different with mini-storage.” He envisioned
an upscale facility that was “unique and different.” He also wanted
his facility to “fit into the environment,” be easy and
cost-effective to maintain, and still look good in 20 or more years.
Today, this functional and beautiful facility is considered an area
landmark and an asset to the community it serves. Tech-Fast helped
Mike achieve these goals.
How
We Can Make It Happen for You
We helped Mike reach his
goals—imagine what we can do for you. Whether your facility will be

More About
Storage Central
The Storage Central facility opened
in September 2003 and includes 88,579 square feet of storage space.
The site design utilizes multiple buildings, including an office and
two manager’s apartments. Tech-Fast integrated masonry with the
all-metal building components to provide unique architectural
details. Three different types of block create a layered effect, and
Tech-Fast custom-designed sculptural eave and gable trim to work
with the layered masonry and large areas of overhang.
Other design features include:
Stone columns and planters strategically
placed to enhance the appearance of the facility and camouflage
utilities.
Stepped roofs in a distinctive and
appealing green color to add visual interest.
A building layout which buffers
surrounding houses and a nearby golf course from highway noise.
Exterior lighting which enhances
security without disturbing nearby residents.
Generous landscaping that creates a
park-like setting and contributes to the overall appearance of
the facility.
Other unique features designed to
attract a wide array of storage customers include:
Movable partitions to provide flexible
unit sizes.
Vaulted ceilings to allow more interior
space in each unit.
Computerized radiant heat in all units.
24-hour customer access.
An advanced security system.
RV washing station.
Over-sized doors to accommodate large
items.
Staggered buildings and 30' wide drive
aisles to allow for large turning radiuses and easier access for
large vehicles.
