Chris Baruso, Project Manager, Wins Employee of the Year
Award
Why is this important news for you? Well, you may not know
what a project manager does to help you get your
self-storage project built on time and within budget. And,
you may not know how important excellent customer service is
to Tech-Fast, which is why Chris was honored in the first
place.
What a Project Manager Does
First, let's find out what a project manager does. Each
Tech-Fast customer is assigned a personal project manager
who acts as their advocate to ensure the completed project
meets their schedule, budget and return on investment goals.
They utilize a streamlined process that helps eliminate the
surprises and extra expenses that can occur in the
construction process. They work with Tech-Fast's sales team,
designers, engineers and construction crews to maximize the
potential of each project. And they work with general
contractors, subcontractors, erectors and suppliers to make
sure you get what you want, when you want it.
More importantly, they are there to communicate with you
every step of the way so you always know the current status
of your project and so any concerns you may have along the
way are responded to quickly.
Tech-Fast has an entire team of project managers on staff;
many of our competitors do not. But at Tech-Fast, we're
focused on making sure your project gets done the way you
want it. We leave nothing to chance.
Why We Have an Employee of the Year Award
At Tech-Fast, we constantly strive for excellence in
everything we do. This means setting high standards for our
employees and establishing a system of rewards and bonuses
for those who achieve or exceed those standards.
Chris Baruso, Project Manager, exemplifies this pursuit of
excellence. He has received the Tech-Fast Employee of the
Year award for 2003. Chris was selected from several
nominations submitted to the company's Employee Recognition
Committee, which based their selection on standards of
excellence and commitment to customer service, positive
attitude, and contributions to the company. Chris attributes
the recognition by his fellow employees to hard work. "I
take pride in my profession and factor hard work and respect
for others as the main attributes for achieving success in
my profession," he says.
Chris received his award and a special gift from Dave Cook,
CEO, and Mark Duncan, President, at a recent company
meeting.
More About Chris Baruso
Chris's appreciation for the creativity and hard work that
goes into construction projects prompted him to accept a
position as a field laborer in the early 1980s. Through hard
work, determination and classes to further his education,
Chris has been a successful project manager for more than 14
years, the last two with Tech-Fast.
"I have managed several projects that required a tremendous
amount of detail and attention," says Chris. The president
of Tech-Fast, Mark Duncan, says he can always rely on Chris
to give the utmost attention to every project he works on.
"Chris has managed projects varying in size and complexity,
including both tenant improvement and new construction, and
he is able to manage them effectively and efficiently." Adds
Dave Cook, CEO, "Chris's ability to manage projects well and
keep customers informed throughout the process make him an
invaluable asset not only to Tech-Fast, but to the customers
he works with."
Chris has completed advanced coursework through the
Associated General Contractors of Washington and is
certified in quality assurance by the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers. In addition to his extensive self-storage
experience, he has managed projects for the U.S. Army, Navy
and Air Force, as well as for major U.S. corporations.
As Chris sums it up, "I look forward to each new challenge,
and to making each project I work on the best it can be for
our customers."
